But it takes a good long while into the game to get weapons that deal enough damage to be helpful to an unarmed build. With the melee build you can actually deal some rather impressive damage with the right weapons. It’s actually a good deal more important to play things sneaky with this build than it is with the melee build. It’s very important that you upgrade to a better weapon as soon as possible. Getting your hands on Spiked Knuckles will set you down the path to actually dealing appreciable damage with your attacks. The thing that makes unarmed combat so tricky is the fact that when using your bare hands you don’t do much damage at all. Choose wisely.įor when using a melee weapon is just too safe there’s also the obligatory hand to hand combat route. However going with Arcade Gannon will grant you extra healing from all sources (always helpful) and Raul the Ghoul will ensure that you spend less time worrying about equipment maintenance. As for your humanoid companion, Boone is one of the best his incredible sniper abilities will compliment you well. Since you’ll be in melee, Rex is somewhat redundant so you’ll want Ed-E instead. When paired up with Heavy Hitter and Kamikaze you can easily get the jump on an enemy, hit them for a Sneak Attack critical and then use VATs to murder the crap out of them before they can fight back. Travel Light and Silent Running will make getting the jump on enemies a whole lot easier. The rest of the perks will grant you bonuses to damage or help you with penetrating enemy Damage Thresholds. Perks like Black Widow / Lady Killer and Cherchez la Femme / Confirmed Bachelor as well as Bloody Mess and Living Anatomy will get you up a very nice damage bonus against all humanoids. Most of the Perks we’re taking are giving us damage bonuses against particular types of enemies: Hunter and Entomologist will grant you damage bonuses on animals, notably against Geckos and Cazadors. So, as you can see, a few familiar manufacturers such as Hyperion, Dahl, and Atlas will be featured in the franchises’ third main installment. With this build we’re doing our best to do as much damage to enemies as quickly as possible. On Monday, IGN revealed all of the weapons manufacturers in Borderlands 3, and there are nine in total: Children of the Vault (COV), Vladof, Hyperion, Tediore, Torgue, Maliwan, Dahl, Atlas, and Jakobs. So, there will be no shortage of content in the game upon its release. The devs have also said that the game will take roughly 35 hours to complete, but that’s if you skip most of the optional side-missions. The developers are also promising that, as many would expect, Borderlands 3 will be much bigger than the game’s second installment, which was released back in September of 2012. It’s probably safe to assume that more Vault Hunters will be added later, but for now, the playable characters are Amara, who is a Siren, FL4K, who is being described as a Beast Master, Moze, who is a Gunner, and Zane, who is an Operative. Upon launch, Borderlands 3 will have four playable characters, which is less than in their previous releases. But, at least Gearbox is trying to help players decide which Vault Hunter to choose before launch. Of course, tinkering with different builds via the interactive skill tree won’t give you a full idea of how your character will perform in the game, as you won’t be able to equip different weapons until the release of Borderlands 3. It’ll also allow players to see how the aforementioned skills and augments change the main action skill. This will allow players to see what different skills and augments do before the game is released next month. If you’re someone who is looking to see which skills do what in Borderlands 3, then the interactive skill tree will be right up your alley. The third installment (not counting the Pre-Sequel) of the Borderlands series is set to hit consoles in just over a month on September 13, but Gearbox is allowing players to tinker with the game’s character builds before launch, as the developer has revealed an interactive skill tree, which is available now on the game’s official website.
